Houston County delegates, Kathy Bird, Tina Simms, and Jamie Swift, attended the Democratic Party Convention in Athens August 14. The top candidates for Georgia state government, Roy Barnes and Carol Porter, inspired the crowd. Mike Thurmond, US Senate candidate gave a great stump speech as well as Tina Simms, GFDW President.
